Why it is important to read Bhagvad Gita..

Introduction

Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, also known as the Geetopanishad, is the essence of Indian religion, philosophy and spirituality. The Bhagavad Gita is an incredible support for all those who don’t have time to go through all the scriptures.

At that point of life, when a person finds himself surrounded by conflicts and challenges and is stuck in a dilemma of duty, Bhagavad Gita holds his hand and guides. It is not just a book. It is Lord Krishna himself is in word form.

It is a continual and eternal message, the importance of which remains intact till today, through all the mess of history whenever a dutiful seeker gets involved in personal, family, professional or any such thought.

HISTORY

There was a total of 45 minutes of conversation between Shri Krishna and Arjun!

Arjuna, one of the son of Pandu, when he stood in the middle of the battlefield of Mahabharat and was disappointed to see his own family members and their relatives, millions in number were ready to sacrifice their lives just the sake of a kingdom Hastinnapur, felt sad and asked the Lord to allow him not to fight anymore against his own people.

At that point, Lord Krishna explained the secrets of life to Arjuna through his statements. These statements are still as important and right in every person’s life as they were for Arjuna at the time of Mahabharata! If you are at the crossroad in any turn of your life, then the answer to each of your problems lies in the Bhagavad Gita.

For Mahatma Gandhi and many great men of the world, the Bhagavad Gita has been a life vision. Mahatma Gandhi too got his way from this preaching. He used to say that ‘whenever doubts surround me and disappointment is on my face; I see the same silver lining on the horizon. In this, I definitely get a verse that gives me solace. Then I smile in the midst of suffering. ‘

The important teachings of Bhagvad Gita

🌼Whatever happened, happened for good. What is happening is also happening for good, whatever will happen will also be for good.

For whatever reason you are disappointed, forget it. Presently, if something is giving you a lot of grief, a very good reason is definitely hidden behind it. This is a cycle, which you must accept. So think about neither the future nor the past. You have a present, live it happily and live with joy.

🌼Change is the rule of the world.

In a moment, you can become a king or a pauper. The earth is not stable either. it too rotates. Night comes after the end of the day. After a very hot summer comes a pleasant monsoon. These things confirm the statement that variability is the rule of the world, so there is no need to be unhappy for things and things that are not sure. Accepting change empowers you to be happy in every difficult situation.

🌼With meditation, the mind becomes unbreakable like the flame of a lamp.

Our problem is that we do not know ourselves. Most of us never tried to meet ourselves. Meditation joins us and when we come to know ourselves, we come to know that life is magical.

🌼You came empty handed and you will go empty handed.

Phenomenal truth doesn’t need any explanation. When we die we don’t take along a hair follicle with us to the other world, what is to be said about the beautiful house and wealth we have achieved once in our life.

🌼Faith in oneself, you become what you believe.

What you think and things you believe in ,the same happens to you and you become the same. If you believe that you are a happy person, then you will be happy and if you bring negative thoughts, you will be disappointed! If you believe that today is a good day, then your day will be good.

🌼Do not worry about the fruit.

We always work for the desire of money, a good house, a good car and a safe future. But most people are considering life as a race and they want to have everything as soon as possible. As soon as they get all that they wanted, they still do not feel happy and start running for the next. One should perform his duties without expecting any result for the blissful life otherwise this circle will never end. “Life is a journey, not a destination and happiness in life will get you from a good journey and not a good destination”.

🌼Every person is his own friend and enemy.

You are your own best friend, the solution to all your problems is with you and no one else. If you go to get advice from ten friends for your problem then you will not get help, because they will have ten different suggestions. You have to connect with yourself and have faith in you. Human beings can also touch the heights with their thoughts and can even fall themselves .

🌼Soul does not take birth nor die.

The Body is a mere cloth to cover our soul. Just like we change our clothes every day, similarly we get a new body after the death. One must overcome from the fear of death. We can’t get anything with fear. Fear and anxiety are two enemies which are the hindrance of our happiness and peace, so we should try to remove them completely from our mind.

🌼Happiness can never be found with Doubt – neither in this world nor in the other.

Doubt brings a veil of vague thoughts to our mind. Doubt makes us timid and unstable. Due to doubt, a person never takes courageous decisions and despite working hard, he lives like a loser.

I hope, this will change your perceptions towards life and you will get answers to your questions. I recommend Bhagvad Geeta as a first book for children after the knowledge of basic education so that they can lead a blissful life without any hindrance from the beginning of their life journey.
