Defeated Truth

I am the defeated truth of my time

I’m a complicated legend

Based on simple conclusions

Unwritten epilogue on life

Not even sad.

On arson of my dream house,

All the desires were killed

It was the whole nation on fire

That lasted for months

What can i say about those riots

Even about those slaughters

A hurricane of sufferings?

Never a page will flutter to say a word I’m so quiet,

I am the defeated truth of my time

  1. Maya, this is a spectacular, perfect poem! I like the first line repeating at the end. I only know a little about the historical events referred to in the poem from watching a documentary, but the memories must be horrific! Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem. Stay safe and happy! Cheryl
