With most of us, over-thinking is the biggest problem in life and it gets worse when you lay down and expect a blissful sleep.One single thought makes you restless and you think about it all night.
Does it happen only with me or with everyone?
It seems like you are standing alone in the middle of the road and there is no sky over your head. Sometimes I feel that the journey of life was so busy that it has made me lazy and I am left powerless. And many fictional things start coming in mind. Most of the times, the old memories start revolving around and the whole night gets worse. In scientific term it’s known as overthinking. It can happen with anyone.
Why do we overthink?
We overthink because of unused energy and creativity. We think and think about something that might be a completely innocent situation, but it is because the poison has erupted and infiltrated our minds, we create this hell. The more we overthink, the more fear we invite in and the more unsettling our thoughts become.
Overthinking is destructive and mentally draining. It can make us feel like we’re stuck in one place, and if we don’t act, it can greatly impact on our day-to-day life. It can quickly put our health and total well-being at risk. Rumination makes us more susceptible to depression and anxiety.
The sharpest minds often ruin their lives by overthinking the next step, while the dull win the race with eyes closed.” “Don’t get too deep, it leads to over thinking, and over thinking leads to problems that doesn’t even exist in the first place.” “The more we overthink the less we will understand.”
We can come out of the repetitive thought patterns by witnessing the thinker inside us. Witnessing will give us the state of “no-mind” -the state of deep inner connectedness. Gradually, we move into the state of pure being - the state of pure consciousness.
And believe me, it is very helpful. It makes me ready to face fictional moments of being alone and gives me more positive perception to see things for peaceful existence.
